Getting into Kingsbridge
It wants a 9.5 from your last three years of high school, and even a perfect 10 only gets you to 37.5%. Foundation years, loans, and the other seven schools.

How acceptance is calculated
- Undergrad applications read your recent high-school grades: the average of your last three school years (ages 14–18), on a 0–10 scale. A strong finish counts more than a weak start.
- At or above the minimum: chance = the tier's base (ivy 30%, state 75%, community 95%) + 15% for every CGPA point above the minimum, up to 95%.
- Below the minimum: the chance drops fast — each point short divides it by about 5 (floor 0.2%).
- Worked example: a perfect 10.0 at Kingsbridge is 0.5 above the bar, so 30% + 7.5% = 37.5%.
- Masters and PhD read your university CGPA.
Second chances and money
- Foundation year: after school (age 19+) you can take a foundation year in science, commerce or arts. It costs $1,500 and earns a new entry record; admissions use whichever is better, that or your school grades.
- Student loans cover tuition you can't pay in cash.
- Study routines and campus paths shape how your degree goes.
- Scholarships (from clubs, captaincies, grades and family circumstances) and athletic recruitment still help.
